Abstract length
- Provide an author-written abstract of no more than 250 words.
- Authors should provide an abstract of 250 words or less, which will appear under the listing of the published version.

Keywords
- Provide 4-10 keywords chosen by the author.
- Authors should also provide a list of 4-10 keywords for their article.
Reference style
- Articlo formats your supplied references to the journal's stored style and checks that citations match the reference list; source validity is not verified.
- Manuscript submissions must be no more than 6,000 words, excluding references, notes and tables.

Figure and table rules
- Keep every figure and table numbered, captioned, and cited in the manuscript. Keep figures embedded; Articlo also extracts numbered source files for the package.
- Keep tables, figures – including graphs, charts, diagrams – and other images to a minimum (no more than 10); all such material must be accompanied by a brief narrative description to ensure accessibility.
Blinded manuscript
- Include or confirm the blinded manuscript required by the journal. Articlo checks this item and flags anything that still needs author input.
Article structure and word limits
- All manuscripts must be submitted electronically, in Microsoft Word format.
- Author’s names must not appear on any other pages of the manuscript.

- Submission Preparation Checklist As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- With Microsoft Office documents, author identification should also be removed from the properties for the file (see under File in Word), by clicking on the following, beginning with File on the main menu of the Microsoft application: File > Save As > Tools (or Options with a Mac) > Security > Remove personal information from file properties on save > Save.
- Keep in mind that such clearance can at times be costly, and often takes time.
Article type and manuscript length
- If figures, images, or tables are used in the article, the author(s) must submit these as separate files, in addition to their inclusion within the body text.
Title page and author information
- All manuscript submissions must be accompanied by a cover page with the article’s title, the full names of all authors and their affiliation and full contact information.
Submission forms and permissions
- Author(s) are not required to assign their copyright in and to their article to the Canadian Journal of Disability Studies.
- Authors must provide proof of permission clearance prior to the publication of their work if they are including images or other materials that are not their own.
