- In general, there should be no more than 10 references at the end of the report, Vancouver Style, while 5 are usually enough.
- References should be selective and keyed in numerical order to the text.
- Examples: Journal references must include authors' names, article title, journal abbreviation, volume number and page numbers.
- As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed.
- Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given.
- Letter: If you wish to upload reference material (acknowledgments, cover letter, author photos, signed copyright forms, etc.) that should not be published but used for reference only by reviewers and editors please name them as "Reference Only" files.
- Examples: Book references must include authors' or editors' names, chapter title (if applicable), book title, edition number (if applicable), publisher, city of publication, year of publication, and page numbers.
- If these references are included in the reference list, they should follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication'.
- Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references and do not, therefore, include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise.
Figure and table rules
- Keep every figure and table numbered, captioned, and cited in the manuscript.
- Please provide a caption for each figure and illustration.
