Abstract length

  • Provide an author-written abstract of no more than 200 words.
  • Brief Report / Case Report: The length of the abstract should be restricted to 200 words for case reports and brief reports and 350 words for original articles.

Reference style

  • All tables and Figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals consecutively in the order of their first citation in the text. ( example Table/Fig 1, Table/Fig 2. ).

Figure and table rules

  • Keep every figure and table numbered, captioned, and cited in the manuscript.
  • Tables should be self-explanatory and should not duplicate textual material.

  • For scientific articles, contributors should obtain written permission and confirmation of accuracy from the source of a personal communication.

  • Should contain a clear, informative, educative, or enlightening message.

  • Include the controls used for each experiment.
  • While reporting experiments on human subjects, you should indicate whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional or regional) and with the Helsinki Declaration of 1975 that was revised in 2000.   • Review: Data and records must be retained and produced for review upon request.
  • If not, then author must confer the explanation for same.
  • Relevant documents should be made available by the author, in case asked by the concern personnel.
  • Contributors should refrain from commenting on economic benefits and costs unless their manuscript includes economic data and analyses.
  • As an appendix to the text, one or more statements should specify-.
  • The titles of journals should be abbreviated according to the style used in Index Medicus.
  • Use the complete name of the journal for non-indexed journals.
  • In such an event, the name of the person and the date of communication should be cited in parentheses in the text.
  • Labels, numbers, and symbols should be clear and of uniform size.
  • When graphs, scatter-grams or histograms are submitted, the numerical data on which they are based should also be supplied.
  • After the consent has been obtained, it should be indicated in the article.
  • Use instructions sent in email by the editor while asking for revision.
  • It should be submitted at the IJNMR Pre Publishing Portal only.
  • Announcements: Assertion of conferences, meetings, courses, awards, and other events of interest to the readers should be submitted with the name and address of the person from whom additional information can be sought.
  • Use double spacing throughout.
  • Identifying information should not be published in written descriptions, photographs, sonograms, CT scans, and pedigrees unless the information is essential for scientific purposes.
  • If I/we do not include an Acknowledgment, it means that I/we have not received substantial contribution from such persons and that the name of no contributor has been omitted.
  • Once submitted, the order cannot be changed without the written consent of all the contributors.

Preprints and prior publication

  • Indian Journal of Neonatal Medicine and Research shall own the work, including 1 the copyright, 2 the right to grant permission to republish the article in whole or in part, with or without a fee, 3 the right to produce preprints or reprints and translate into languages other than English for sale or free distribution, and 4 the right to republish the work in a collection of articles in any other mechanical or electronic format.

Authorship and originality

  • The contributions that should be acknowledged but do not justify authorship.
  • To ensure authorship for the submitted manuscripts, the contributors should meet the following three conditions: Conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data has been done by the author.

Manuscript structure

  • Review: Authors submitting review articles should include a section describing the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesising data.
  • Include a general description of methods in the methods section.
