Abstract length

  • Must be written for dance students, geared towards any one of the following populations: middle school, high school, independent sector, college, graduate students, adult students.

  • Preparing Your Paper Types of Articles Considered JoDE welcomes articles on all aspects of teaching dance to children, teens, college students, and adults in a variety of settings, including but not limited to public schools, private schools and studios, higher education, and community education.

Manuscript structure

  • Headings must be in all capital letters, centered, in bold font, and must not exceed 40 characters per heading.
  • Must stem from a variety of frameworks and methods, including but not limited to teaching as scholarship; empirical approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods; humanities-based scholarship; literature reviews; practice-based research; and contextualized reflections on practice.
