Abstract length
- Provide an author-written abstract of no more than 200 words.
Keywords
- Provide 5-8 keywords chosen by the author.
- Each manuscript should have 5 to 8 keywords.
Reference style
- Articlo formats your supplied references to the journal's stored style and checks that citations match the reference list; source validity is not verified.
- Manuscripts should include an appropriate and complete list of references.

Figure and table rules
- Keep every figure and table numbered, captioned, and cited in the manuscript. Keep figures embedded; Articlo also extracts numbered source files for the package.
- Contributions should aim to conform to a printed extent of 48 pp (including tables and illustrations), i.e. approximately 100 manuscript pages.

- All figures must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the manuscript (e.g. Figure 1, Figure 2).
- In multi-part figures, each part should be labelled (e.g. Figure 1(a), Figure 1(b)).
- Please provide the highest quality figure format possible.
- Figure captions must be saved separately, as part of the file containing the complete text of the manuscript, and numbered correspondingly.
- You must ensure appropriate acknowledgement is given to the permission granted to you for reuse by the copyright holder in each figure or table caption.
- Figures must be saved separate to text.
- Files should be saved as one of the following formats: PS, JPEG, TIFF, or Microsoft Word (DOC or DOCX) files are acceptable for figures that have been drawn in Word.
- Please do not embed figures in the manuscript file.
Funding statement
- You should declare only the acquired funds and grants that are directly relevant to the work reported in your article; for example, This work was supported by the [Funding Agency #1] under Grant [number xxxx]; [Funding Agency #2] under Grant [number xxxx]; and [Funding Agency #3] under Grant [number xxxx].
Competing interests
- Include or confirm the competing interests required by the journal. Articlo checks this item and flags anything that still needs author input.
Cover letter
- If you wish to include any material in your manuscript in which you do not hold copyright, you must obtain written permission from the copyright owner, prior to submission.
Title page and author information
- All authors of a manuscript should include their full names and affiliations on the cover page of the manuscript.
- One author should be identified as the corresponding author.

Article structure and word limits

- Authors must retain the original and revised versions which must be shared upon request.
- The PLSP guidelines for authors must be followed at all times.
- Contributions suitable for Textile Progress should provide a critical and comprehensive examination of research and development advances within the range of the selected subject.
- Submissions should be written in such a way that the researcher is informed of the state of the art and that the non-specialist can understand the underlying principles and possible applications.
- Authors must also incorporate a Disclosure Statement which will acknowledge any financial interest or benefit they have arising from the direct applications of their research.
- Sexist or racist terms must not be used.
- Authors must adhere to SI units.
- If it is believed that the subject requires a longer or shorter contribution, please discuss this with the Editor.
- Image descriptions are typically used by systems such as pronouncing screen readers to make images accessible to people that cannot read or see the object due to a visual disability.

Preprints and prior publication
- If you have shared an earlier version of your Author’s Original Manuscript on a preprint server, please be aware that anonymity cannot be guaranteed.

- Please include a statement disclosing whether and how generative AI has been used in the research and manuscript preparation process.

Language and text style
- Long quotations of 40 words or more should be indented without quotation marks.
- Please use single quotation marks, except where ‘a quotation is “within” a quotation’.
Article type and manuscript length
- Authors should include a word count with their manuscript.
- Manuscripts should be compiled in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text; acknowledgements; references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages); figure caption(s) (as a list).
Manuscript structure
- Section headings should be concise and numbered sequentially, using a decimal system for subsections.
- Authors must retain full records of the methods undertaken, including full descriptions and records of the prompts used, which must be shared with the journal upon request.
Study reporting guidelines
- Authors must provide full methodological details and adhere to relevant reporting guidelines where applicable (e.g. CONSORT-AI, STARD-AI, GAMER, TRIPOD-AI, etc).
